Staff: The IMT TRU is based on an experienced team of teachers - researchers of IAP as well as on that of external consultants who come to supplement this team according to the needs.
Laboratories: The IMT TRU has two Laboratories: • Laboratory of the rotating machines, • Laboratory of simulation.
I. Laboratory of the rotating machines is composed of: I.1. Test bench (Diesel gasoline/) at variable compression ratio, including: - One-cylinder 4-stroke engine with 2 reversed valves, functioning like engine with positive ignition or auto-ignition (diesel) - Variable compression Ratio by adjustment height of the cylinders - Asynchronous Machine with a unit of supply return. - Gas Analyzer - Calorimeter.
I.2. Diagnosis Bench of rotating machines by vibratory analysis. It enables to generate the principal defects met on the industrial revolving machines - Defects of unbalance, - Angular lineage - Deterioration of the bearings, - Defects of belt - Defects of gearing.
I.3. Bench of lubrication of a smooth bearing. It enables to make the following measurements: - Distribution of pressure in a smooth bearing according to the number of the rotary movements. - Distribution of pressure in a smooth bearing according to the load and bearing set. - Limit of stability according to the set

II. A Simulation Laboratory of the flow phenomena, equipped with three work stations of great power with a permanent license of the “Fluent” software which can treat the following applications: - Oil and gas Flows, - Automobile, - Petrochemical treatment, - Fuel cells, - Environmental Quality and of water, - Metals, ores and extraction, Mixture, - Polymer Treatment, - Electrical production, - Semiconductor.
Training: The Training and Research Unit offers the following:
A. Training according to the customer’ needs in the fields of: - Maintenance of the revolving machines, - Thermal engines, - Turbomachines, - Lubrication.
B. seminars on IAP-Jsc catalogue, C. Two training programmes leading to a degree in: 1- Industrial maintenance, 2- Engines & Applications.
1- Specialized Engineer in Industrial maintenanceThe Industrial maintenance, which ensures the good functioning of the production equipment, is a strategic function in the companies. It is closely related to the constant technological development, the emergence of new methods of management and the need for reducing the production costs, therefore it is in constant evolution. It is mainly structured around: - Theoretical courses and practical work (08 months) -Training courses and drafting of dissertation of end of studies (04 months) The training of specialized engineers in Industrial maintenance is designed for engineers with a good level in the following specialities: - Mechanical engineering - Mechanics - Energetics.
1.1.After the training Within the framework of the total quality defined by the company, the specialized engineer in Industrial maintenance, by its synthetic and analytical mind, will be able to: - Identify a failure, to analyze its cause (s) and to take part in the repairing. - Coordinate the various activities of the maintenance service - Promote improvements in the medium and long term. - To liaise between the services of production and means and/or the products design.
1.2. The Programme:The programme stresses on a versatile, multidisciplinary training and on the development of diversified skills. This training appeals to the following fields: - Mechanics putting special emphasis on the working mechanisms of machines; - Maintenance, with knowledge on lubrication and the lubricants, on vibrations analysis and the design and the implementation of preventive maintenance programmes. Industrial training enables to put into practice the theoretical knowledge and the acquisition of competences and work experience ready to be used at once.
2- Specialized Engineer in Engines & Applications The training “Engines & Applications” is aimed at engineers with a good level in the specialities: energetics and mechanical Engineering. It aims to offer to oil and car industries as well as to all the sectors operating in the field of energy, the specialists able to develop and use the energy generator (Gas turbines and reciprocating engines) as well as the lubricants and fuels for an optimum use of the conversion systems of energy. It is mainly based on: - Theoretical courses and practical work (08 months) - Training courses and drafting of end of studies dissertation (04 months)
2.1. After the trainingAt the end of this training, based on a thorough study of the thermal and mechanical phenomena, which controls the functioning of thermal machines, these specialized engineers will be quickly operational in industrial environment.
2.2. Programme:The training of specialized engineers is structured around three phases: - Phase 1: (03 months) based on fundamental courses - Phase 2: specialization (03 months) based on a thorough study of the mechanical, thermal and thermodynamic phenomena and the calculation of the performances of the thermal machines; internal combustion engines and gas turbines and practical work on: - Driving tests, - Standardized tests of the lubricants, - Lubrication of the smooth bearings. - phase 3: (02 months) to supplement the speciality by security tools and of industrial maintenance. - Practical training courses (04 months) as well as project studies.
