Objectives:
The main objective of the TRU is to meet the needs of the industrial sector through training high level specialized executives, quickly operational in production and processing of polymeric materials.

Training:
The programme provides the following trainings and services:
A- Training of specialized engineers
B -Post-graduate (Master) and continuing Training
C-Service delivery and research projects opportunities.

In addition, it should be stressed that this programme is unique in Algeria. It includes the following: polymer chemistry, synthesis, reaction engineering, structure, rheology, implementation, tools and products’ design to be manufactured as well as the assessment of their physical and chemical properties.
Training is provided in English by a highly qualified staff, who has acquired extensive experience in contact with American teachers. Those last, initiated the starting up of this programme in 1984.

Activities:
Thanks to 35 years of training experience in the field of plastics, the close collaboration with the plastics / rubber industries and its modern and efficient laboratories. Added to that, the experience of its teachers - researchers, Petrochemistry & Polymers Unit of IAP Boumerdès is able to provide the following:

I) The re-training and upgrading of your staff
The petrochemistry & Polymers unit develops programmes based on free choice curriculum on any short-term training within its field of practice.

II) Service delivery:
The unit provides services in the following areas:
- Physicochemical analysis - Accelerated Ageing (UV)
- Mechanical testing - Quality control
- Rheological Tests

III) The consulting / Expertise
The Petrochemistry & Polymers TRU grants all the requests of consulting and expertise in the following fields:
- Project analysis
- Development of formulations
- Selection of materials
- Design of final products
- Selection of equipment
- Design of moulds and reactor systems
- Organization of seminars and technical workshops.

IV) The continuing education upon request and on catalogue:
The Petrochemistry & Polymers TRU organizes a set of seminars on plastic materials, their properties and implementation, intended to:
- Industrialists and research departments
- Engineers, Technicians, and Technical sales executives
